DRAWING 2011
DRAWING 2011 BIENNIAL FUNDRAISER Exhibition dates: 7 April to 18 May Auction night: 18th May 2011 Top name artists make new work for auction The Drawing Room Biennial Fundraiser has become one of London’s art world key biennial events. Since 2003 over 600 established and emerging artists, from the UK and abroad, have generously made a unique work on paper in support of the non-profit gallery’s programme. For this event a huge array of artists comes together to demonstrate the crucial role that drawing plays in contemporary art and to endorse the Drawing Room as a platform for its presentation and exploration. This exhibition will not only document the extraordinary richness of drawing today but will also mark the Drawing Room’s 10th Anniversary “I see the drawing room auction as a kind of annual commission, and it's nice to go back to an existing series of works (I mean the nudes). This year a whole new set of pieces came out of resuming work on the nudes”. John Stezaker, 2011 Artists including Franko B, Fiona Banner, Cornelia Parker Angela de la Cruz, Bob & Roberta Smith, Richard Long, Hamish Fulton, Goshka Macuga, Paula Rego, George Shaw, John Stezaker, Erik Van Lieshout have given among many other established and emerging artists in the UK and abroad. 'It was here that I first saw Anna Barham's drawing and was so intrigued, I commissioned her to make a work. The fundraiser is great way to gain exposure to young artists and forge relationships with them.' Elisabetta Buonaiuto, collector The drawings are to be exhibited for four weeks, culminating in an exciting silent auction event on Wednesday 18th May. The Biennial Fundraisers offer the perfect opportunity to purchase unique works on paper by major and upcoming artists.

THOUGHTS V: Tasting Love
It was in an afternoon of fall. There they were taking a stroll beneath the grandiose trees as autumn leaves fall like snowflakes on the ground. It was a portrait the boy used to paint deep within the walls of his unconscious mind. There were shades and colors every hopeless romantic would dream of laying on their canvasses. Once finished, they just stare at it, fantasizing... desperately waiting for that moment to come alive. The boy was just one of the fortunate few who had his dream come true.
"Let's jump over there" He said pointing at the pile of leaves. "You mean dive? Are you sure?" The girl replied. The boy held her hand, their fingers tight and locked. Then, with a single mischievous smile they ran towards the pile.
They ended up lying on the dirt side by side. They laughed their hearts out as they watch dry leaves fly everywhere. "You should have the seen the look on your face" The boy said. Laughter roared even more! As it seized he turned to her, their faces a breath away. He just stared at her. She wore a face of perfection, a marvel, a sight he only used behold from a distance, a figure he used to steal glimpses of. Now, there he lays, only courage away from a kiss. He was speechless. It's as if he was robbed of all the flamboyant words he knows.
..."I've been saving love songs and lullabies, and there's so much more no one's ever heard before. Something's telling me it might be you, all of my life"

What does these things have in common?
Durability
In any journey you take you need to be able to endure. Journeys are meant for you to pack light because you accumulate stuff along the way. I had a journey and I am still on my journey. The roads have been bumpy, lumpy and sometimes smooth but it is not over. I had to make a decision on whether to give up or go on in my journey. My attacks were greater but even the attacks had purpose. My journey is not over but I am packing light because the journey is taking me into my promise land. I made up my mind that I am God manufactured with Jesus stamp of aproval. My durability will help me sustain and my journey has a greater adventure in the end. So,pack light for the journey because you have so much more to gain....
